Deacons are called to serve at Lexington's First Baptist Church. That service includes:
1. Ministering to their families in the Deacon led Family Ministry Program by,
A. maintaining regular contact with their families,
B. ministering during times of need,
C. visiting during times of sickness, loss of loved ones, etc,
D. consoling and praying with them in times of distress,
E. celebrating with them during the good times,
F. praying for them regularly,
G. and remembering them on special occasions (birthdays, births, etc)
2. Setting an example for all church members by being actually involved in all facets of the church.
3. Responding positively when asked to assume responsibilities in the church.
4. Conducting themselves as Christians in the actions and conversations at all times.
5. Being actively involved in witnessing with the lost and unchurched.
6. Accept other responsibilities when led by the Lord to do so.
