There are several different areas of ministry to the seniors in our community.
Quarterly meetings , focusing on senior citizens, are held at Union University. Several of our members have attended these luncheons, as well as the annual summer conferences for seniors.
The ladies of our WMU minister to shut-ins with visits, cards, and phone calls.
Each week church members visit Briarwood, Lexington Manor, Oakhaven, and Heritage Place to have Bible study. The Sunday School lesson is taught weekly.
The word JOY in the name of our adult fellowship club is an acronym for "Just Older Youth." The name suggests that we enjoy one another as we do things together. The JOY CLUB meets on the first Thursday every month.
In addition to fellowship lunches, THE JOY CLUB sponsors trips to various sites of interest. Some trips are for one day and some are for several days.
UPCOMING TRIPS:
If you are an adult 55 or older who is looking for new friends, consider THE JOY CLUB of FBC. You will discover a large group of "Just Older Youth" who will welcome you and help you fill your life with fellowship, food, and fun that will enrich your senior years.
