Current Mission Opportunities:
The Missions Committee of First Baptist Church exists to provide coordination and encouragement to members who wish to participate in mission projects. In the past First Baptist volunteers have ventured to numerous countries sharing the Gospel Message. The countries of Mexico, Honduras, Kosovo, Yemen, Israel, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia, and Malawi are some that have been impacted with the Eternal Gospel as members have followed the leading of the Holy Spirit out of their comfort zones into the paths of the lost people that Jesus died for.
In Tennessee First Baptist teams have participated in projects in Galloway, Martin, and Memphis. In Galloway and 50' X 75' building was framed and cabinets were built and installed by First Baptist Volunteers. In Martin an addition to a Spanish Mission Church was framed. In Memphis block party and landscaping project was done by First Baptist Volunteers led by the Youth Department.
Local mission projects are of much importance to the life of our church. We are always looking for these local projects to help our community in the name of Jesus. There have been many of these done in the recent past such as addition to local dwelling and construction of wheel chair ramps.

W M U Groups have held bible schools in Galloway for 2 years now and have an ongoing project collecting items for the needy in Galloway. Groups recently have gone to West Virginia sharing Christ there.
The possibilities for mission participation are unlimited. The Lord Jesus has given the charge in Acts 1:8 to go into the entire world with the gospel and the promise that He is always with us. In light of this command and promise we must respond. Come and join us "On Mission" at First Baptist Lexington.
